Uganda Athletics Federation Gears Up for National Cross Country Championships

Tororo Golf Course to Host Exciting Athletic Action on February 8, 2025

The Uganda Athletics Federation is set to host the much-anticipated National Cross Country Championships on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the scenic Tororo Golf Course. This annual event brings together the nation’s finest athletes in a thrilling day of competition and camaraderie.

Highlights of the Day’s Events:

Under-16 Boys and Girls (2km): Starting at 9:00 AM, young athletes will display their budding talent.

Mixed Relay @ 2km (8km): Teams will compete in a dynamic relay format at 9:20 AM.

Under-20 Women (6km): The spotlight shifts to emerging women athletes at 9:50 AM.

Under-20 Men (8km): Following the mixed relay awards, the men’s under-20 race begins at 10:30 AM.

Senior Women (10km): The endurance and strength of senior women athletes will be tested at 11:10 AM.

Senior Men (10km): At 12:05 PM, elite male athletes will take on the grueling 10km race.

Master’s Race (4km): Seasoned runners will showcase their resilience at 12:50 PM.

The event will also feature awards ceremonies interspersed throughout the program to celebrate the achievements of the winning athletes in each category.

This championship not only serves as a platform to identify talent for international competitions but also fosters the spirit of athletics in Uganda. Spectators and supporters are encouraged to attend and cheer for their favorite athletes.
